Northern Ireland Retreat

From Resilience to Radiance – the Journey to Reclaim Your Life

Long weekend (Friday afternoon to Monday morning) residential retreat for successful women entrepreneurs, business leaders and change makers who now want to get their lives back

Are you a successful, driven, woman entrepreneur, business leader, or change maker feeling like you’ve lost yourself in the pursuit of success? You’ve spent so long striving for that external success that you have lost sight of who you are and what is really important. But now you’ve woken up to the fact that this material success is not what’s important – you want more balance, you want more purpose, and you want a place to start.

It’s time to break free from the belief that sacrificing your health and happiness is the only path to success. That sticking at it and getting very good at surviving is all you can aspire to.  It’s time to take back control of your life, time, and energy and radiate joy and happiness in all parts of your life.

Join us from 22 to 25 September 2023 for the Resilience to Radiance retreat, designed exclusively for women like you, to give you the tools to reclaim your life and rediscover what truly matters.

Joanna and Chef Pam are excited to bring together their combined decades of experience in coaching and therapy to facilitate a small group of up to 10 women, all converging in Northern Ireland to support each other and learn from each other. On top of that, they have selected a really special venue: Murlough Country House, a Georgian gem built in 1750 and situated in the historic Dundrum, Northern Ireland, just 200 yards from the golden sands of Murlough beach, to provide the cosy backdrop that will allow you to switch off and unplug for the weekend.

This is what you can expect

  • Your weekend begins with a welcome session and dinner on the Friday evening, connecting you with like-minded participants who share your aspirations and will be there to support you just as much as you support them. During this time we will be setting intentions for the weekend to come.
  • After that, the goal is that over our 2 and a half days together, you’ll gain clarity on a bigger vision for your life, both professionally and personally. You will learn tools to let go of the baggage holding you back and you will come away with your first next steps on your  path to achieve your dreams.
  • You will also nourish your body with healthy, nutritious meals prepared by Pam, an expert chef passionate about culinary therapy. You’ll also have the opportunity to join her in cooking quick and easy lunches, healing and connecting through food as a love language for yourself.
  • The retreat will end on Monday morning after a hearty breakfast and closing session to send you on your way.

Don’t wait until your life falls apart before you start to choose your own well-being. The Resilience to Radiance retreat is your opportunity to regain control, thrive professionally, and  enjoy a balanced personal life.

Meet the coaches

Meet Joanna, an executive coach who helps high achievers find balance and purpose, and Pam, an award-winning TV Network chef and family therapist who helps bring healing through food. Together, we’ll guide you towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Joanna Denton is an executive coach working with successful business leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs who have realised that despite all their material success, they want more balance and purpose in their lives.  She helps them get their lives back.  Prior to that, Joanna worked as a tax consultant for 16 years in Big 4 accounting firms in both the UK and Luxembourg, working up to the level of Director in 2010.  Two burnouts in five years made her fall out of love with her well-established tax career, even though on the face of it she was at the top of her game. In 2014, after burnout number 2, she realised there was more to life than tax returns so she left tax, became a coach, and changed pretty much everything about how she lives her life. For more, check out her website

Chef Pam Fanjoy is a social changemaker and award-winning chef who combines her passion for food and culinary experiences with innovative strategies for life-long health, wellness and resilience.  Pam has been helping families create the change that they want in their lives for the past 30 years as a Child, Adolescent & Family Therapist.  Now also an award-winning chef and Executive Director of Cooking Up Change, she is combining her talents to address the intersectionality of childhood food insecurity, mental health and future wellbeing. Her culinary therapy model is based on communication, collaboration and cooperation and she helps her clients find themselves again through food.

More about the venue

We have picked a truly magical place for this retreat, somewhere that you can really step out of the day to day and get back to the beauty of the world.

Murlough Country house is set on the point of a peninsula, not even 200 metres from the golden sands of Murlough beach, nestled away in the 500 acres of the Murlough Bay Nature Reserve, managed by the National Trust.

It is situated on the picturesque ancient village of Dudrum with its famous Norma castle, and only 4 miles from the seaside resort of Newcastle, where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea.

The house is surrounded by 3 acres of garden, and only a short walk to the beach.  You will have plenty of time to fully appreciate all that the place has to offer.

Other FAQ

This looks amazing but I am still not sure if its a good fit – how can I find out more?

If you are a business leader, entrepreneur, or change maker, and deep down you know that there is so much more to life than this material success that you have achieved so far, and you want to spend 2.5 days with people who really get you AND take time out in the beautiful surroundings of Northern Ireland – you are definitely a good fit.

But if you are still not sure, that’s not a problem.  Send Joanna an email at joanna@joannadenton.com and she will be in touch with you to answer any questions you have.

I am new to Joanna and Chef Pam, and would love to get a better feel for them.  How can I do that?

No problem at all.  Come check out more about Joanna HERE and Chef Pam HERE.  You can also get on a call with Joanna and meet her in person and allow you to answer any questions you have.

What kind of people will be attending with me?

You will be welcomed warmly into a small group of no more than 8 women.  You will be surrounded by like minded women, all successful in their chosen fields, and all keen to create balance in their lives and rewrite how they define a full and successful life.

Is there wheelchair access?

Unfortunately this is an old house, built in the days before considerations for wheelchair access.  There are a lot of stairs in the house, and the corridors will not be wide enough for wheelchairs..  That said there is a bedroom and bathroom on the bottom floor with direct access from the courtyard for anyone with limited mobility and without a wheelchair.

How do I get to the venue?

There are different ways to get to Northern Ireland and the venue.  You can fly into either Dublin (about 1.5 to 2 hours away) or one of the two Belfast airports (about an hour away).  From there you can rent a car or come by cab.  We can provide you with additional information and also arrange cabs at preferential rates.  We can also put you in touch with other participants if you would like to car share.

What about flights – when should I be getting there?

We will be kicking off around 5 on Friday evening, and sending you on your way mid morning on Monday.  As such, aim to be arriving in Dublin or Belfast by around lunchtime on Friday,  and heading back off on Monday afternoon.
